I truly love those rare photography moments when I'm looking through the lens
and my subject turns and we make direct eye contact.
In that split second, an acknowledgement seems to form a friendship bond.
It is in that moment that I feel truly blessed and honored to share such a link.
"They're antennas...NOT nose hairs!"
"Yes, I AM beautiful."
"What are you lookin' at, Lady?"
"Do you feel lucky?"
"I'd like to see YOU balancing on a twig when the wind is whipping you around!"
"Isn't this a most splendid day?!"
"Whatcha doin'?"
"I bet you blink before I do!"
"Make sure the sun is reflecting my beautiful eyes.""Whatcha doin'?"
"Be quick about it. I've got places to go and crabs to meet."
"Can't a lady wash in peace?!"
"Man, the water is reeaallyy chilly today!"
"You...AGAIN?!"
"Didn't think I could do it...did ya?!""What? You didn't bring any food with you?!"
"Quick, turn your head and maybe she won't notice us."
"No...I DON'T chew my food, and yes...it CAN go down sideways -
not that it's ANY of your business, of course!"
(he's just swallowed a fish; notice the bulge at the top of his throat)
"Yes, it is I, a lizard. Find me fascinating, do you?"
"I know what you're wondering and the answer is 'no, it doesn't hurt!'"
"Do you mind? You're in my space."
"Watch out for snakes!"
"I don't have anyone to play with."
"What part of 'never more' don't you understand?!"
"Well, helloooooo there!"
"Oh, my, I wasn't expecting company. I must look a fright!"
"Greetings this fine mornin'."
"I love the wind in my hair!"
"Don't ruffle my feathers, lady!"
"Ah, geez! I can't even come out of my shell without you lurking about."
"I'm already on my last nerve so don't push it!"
"How come no matter where I go you're always there?!"
"Terribly sorry that you're unable to enjoy the simply mahhhvelous view from up here."
"Don't tell ME to pipe down, lady!"
"Don't just stand there...give me a hand with this trash, would ya!"
"Here's lookin' at you, kid."
Seeing eye-to-eye isn't always a necessity...
but appreciating the uniqueness in each and every living creature
and recognizing their value and beauty
will allow your heart to expand and grow in understanding and acceptance."
Have you submitted any of your pictures to National Geographic, or maybe the Florida board of tourism??? You are an amazing photographer and writer!
