In silencing the noises and clearing the mind, the heart embraces the beauty of nature and all her inhabitants. The miracle of changing seasons, the mating rituals, the beginning and ending life cycle, the vocal messages echoing through the trees, the smells carried on the wind, and from the first peek of the sun stretching across the sky to its final wink as it disappears are all proof that life truly is a spiritual journey. I invite you to share in my photo adventures and I hope they serve as reminders of the mystery and magic all around us.

The Delicate Art of Eating A Crab

Today's demonstration is brought to you courtesy of a Yellow-crowned Night Heron
residing at the J.N. Ding Darling Wildlife Refuge on beautiful Sanibel Island, Florida.
First, select the juiciest crab you can find.
The size should depend upon your hunger level...
NOT how big you can open your mouth!
Secure it tightly
by maintaining a strong grip.
Once you have chosen a comfortable dining location
turn the crab sideways
and begin the cracking process.
Squeeze down tightly on one end,
then the other.
Don't hesitate to take a second crunch if necessary.
Be sure to crunch every inch.
Reposition the crab for easy swallowing.
 And down it goes.
This demonstration has been brought to you as a means of education and enjoyment.
Please do not attempt to duplicate this at home or a fine dining establishment!
